Hercules Papadogiannis is the founder and general of The Undertakers, a New Jersey based scenario team. The Undertakers, who also count Help Keep Paintball Alive’s Mark Pagan and Valken Sales Rep Will Bourgault on their roster, are an incredibly, well respected team on the east coast scenario scene. Hercules and his crew are among the most active in the paintball scene and in their community. The team recently raised several thousand dollars at the Toms River, NJ Relay for Life event and just a few weeks later, lead their side in command on the "NATIVE WARRIORS" at the Western Wars scenario event at EMR Paintball. Hercules is also the founder of the Tactical Ten Paintball League, a very unique event scheduled for October 8 & 9 2011 at On Target Paintball in New Jersey. The Valken Corps is a band of paintball players who reach out beyond their own team or group, to unite with other like-minded individuals and come together on a larger scale to enjoy the game of paintball. The goal is to give paintball players what they want – more paintball – by creating a network of players that share advice, support local fields and shops and contribute to the growth of the game. The Valken Corps highlights the fields, stores, events, teams and individuals that help make paintball the obsession we all know and love.
The U.S. Corps is divided in to 10 regionsto help players connect with other locals and to help organize fields, teams and events. There are also Canadian Provincial Corps and European Corps countries, as well. Each will have a Regional Commander(RC), whose duties include leading Valken Corps players on the fieldand organizing Valken Corps players and teams off the field. Valken Corps Regional Commanders are a dedicated group of volunteer players with leadership experience both on and off the paintball field.

Industry Paintball Industry raises $10,000 for Katrina relief efforts

Looking around, you would be hard pressed to determine whether there were more paint stains (the tell-tale residue of a paintball exploding against clothing, rendering a paintball player out of a game) or smiles (the ear to ear sort that have their roots deep inside and that come from the knowledge that you just did something that would genuinely help others). Such was the scene when RAP4's sponsor team, Undertakers Paintball, and numerous others helped raise funds in excess of $10,000 to help with the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
"Ever since Katrina arrived, people have pitched in to lend a helping hand. People from all the world rushed in to give their support," said KT Tran, owner of Real Action Paintball (online at www.rap4.com). "This was something that we could do to help."
The something that Mr. Tran refers to was what he hopes was a trend-setting event for the paintball industry. Last week, with the support of paintball stores, players, clubs, and teams, the paintball industry came together to put on a paintball game benefit. "It was an exciting event to put together," said Hercules Papadogiannis, Captain of Undertakers Paintball Club and coordinator of the event. All in all, many teams came out to support the event and the Katrina relief effort, including Section8, VooDoo, RTD, Midnight Raiders, and National Guards. These teams, along with others, spent the hours between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM in an exciting game complete with a tank from TJ (of www.armoredfistpaintball.com) and Dawn (editor of www.paintballsportsmag.com), and a Hummer brought by the National Guards.
"Everyone who could come out to lend support had a great time and together we made a huge impact and on the relief plan," said Mr. Papadogiannis. Prizes were donated from corporate sponsors RAP4, Ambush Alpha, Animal Paintball, and WWE Wrestling, and immediately following the game, these prizes were auctioned off to the highest bidder.
"Over all it was a great event," said Mr. Papadogiannis, a broad smile splitting his face. "We hope to start a trend for industry, helping out worthy causes."
All funds raised are donated to the American Red Cross.
